Basically I Just Want Her to Be a Really Awesome Villain. Can We Just Have That Please
Disclaimer: Firstly, I could be wrong. As I will talk about in this meta a little further on, the writers purposely left it ambiguous as to whether Mary actually wanted to kill Sherlock or not. My personal belief is that she did, and I will be exploring why in further detail. For these reasons, some may not agree with me. If you are a Mary stan or you personally believe Sherlock’s “surgery” explanation, you will likely not like or agree with this meta. Hopefully everyone who does read it will understand that because it’s so unclear in the context of the show, it is verifiably wrong to say that one side or the other is definitively right. We can create theories and be pretty sure, but that’s pretty much it, at least for now. I will also be exploring why it is so ambiguous and will be talking about how it’s entirely possible that Mary knew Sherlock would survive. Here we go.
I was talking to my friend Colton, who has never watched the show but is always willing to listen to me ramble about things he doesn’t care about, bless him, and I was like, “Okay, in which of these pictures does John look more horrified?”
or this one
and he was like, “Uhh, the second one, why?” And I was like, “In the first one, John thinks that Sherlock is about to shoot a bomb and kill both of them. In the second one, Sherlock had just proposed to a woman named Janine.”
And Colton just frowned and said, “And people who watch this show think they’re just friends?”
